Welcome to the PANEL DISCUSSION: Averting the global events skills shortage
As part of its project “ETT Journey to reopen the exhibition industry”, ETT Club is delighted to present the panel discussion: Averting the global events skills shortage. A panel supported by Erika Welling, Chief Experience Officer, Blendz Events, Debbie Lee, Founder & Director, Benchmark Collective, both ETT sub-group “Event Profs Without Borders” group leaders, and Mike Frost, Co-Founder, Expocast, ETT sub-group “Eventgers” group leader.
This great panel will define the skill shortage issues in various regions of the world. Panellists will discuss what unique practices or innovations have come out of these challenges and what efficiencies organisations have learned due to less staff during pandemic.
Is there a skill shortage? What are the issues? What can we learn from each other as some countries have experienced events while others are delayed as regulations are still not lifted in their countries? What are the solutions and where are the gaps? What type of skills are we missing most and after their layoffs during the pandemic, are show organisers starting to hire back full time or part time skills? How has the pandemic affected various vendors in our industry and how has that support affected show organizers? Will hybrid events demand increased staffing? Have there been re-skilling successes?
We are delighted to welcome a panel of great speakers to discuss these questions and share their insight with the entire industry:
- Amy Calvert, CEO, Events Industry Council
- Jeff Quade, Executive Vice President, Exhibitions, GES
- Lauren Lamb, Vice President of Marketing, Informa Markets
- Erika Welling, Chief Experience Officer, Blendz Events
- Mike Frost, Co-Founder, Expocast
A big thank you to Erika Welling, Debbie Lee, ETT “Event Profs Without Border” Group leaders and Mike Frost, ETT “Eventgers” Group leader, for your support and bringing this great idea forward!
